Rancho Cucamonga Wins Round 1
Saturday, August 24th , 2075
The Rancho Cucamonga Cucarachas took time to celebrate with the Rancho Cucamonga fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Round 1 triumph over the Lancaster Lightning.
Members of the Cucarachas hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Rancho Cucamonga fans in attendance at Guerilla Ballpark, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 3-2 win to seal the series 3-1.
"We've got great fan support," said shortstop Filip Beens. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Lancaster fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."
For the series, Beens hit .438 with a .471 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
Things weren't so cordial on the Lightning side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.
The Rancho Cucamonga Cucarachas will play against the Ft Levenworth Rock Crushers in the next round. Ft Levenworth won their series against the GreenCard Players 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
