António Martínez Captures Prestigious Trophy

He may have less experience than most of his POTD Rookie League peers, but that didn't slow António Martínez down at all in 2072.
At the age of 24, the Orlando third baseman has been named the winner of the Colonial League Rookie Diamond Hitter Award.
He had a .316 batting average and a .411 on-base percentage this year. In 50 games he piled up 49 hits, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 10 home runs, 32 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 28. Chris Johnston of the Orlando Jailbreakers finished second in voting, while Martin Wilson of the Beloeil Barracudas finished third with 1 first place vote.
