Mass Ave Wins Round 1

Jay Long has led his Mass Ave Minutemen to a Round 1 victory.
Mass Ave's first baseman was named series MVP after playing an instrumental role in winning the series 3-1 and eliminating the Mason Victors.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "It's simple what I did this series."
The club advanced to the Round 2 with a 10-4 triumph at Ballpark of Mason in the deciding game.
Long was red hot in the series, which saw him put up a .474 average, as well as 1 home runs and 6 RBI.
The Mass Ave Minutemen don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Modesto Goshawks - Bakersfield Firewalkers series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.

Greensboro Sweeps into the Round 2

Bernardo Reyes said he expected the Round 1 to be "a battle from start to finish."
In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Greensboro Gappers encountered little resistance in sweeping the Woodmere Starfires, to advance to the Round 2.
"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Reyes.
Greensboro won the final game by a 19-4 count and were led in the series by Reyes, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .455 with 3 home runs. He also drove in 9 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Greensboro Gappers will play against the Saint Paul Rovers in the next round. Saint Paul won their series against the Hong Kong Phooey 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.

Saint Paul Moves on to Round 2

The Saint Paul Rovers proved to be too much to handle for the Hong Kong Phooey in the Round 1, and a sweep was the end result.
Saint Paul punched its ticket to the Round 2 on the strength of a 9-4 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 3-0.
Saint Paul left fielder Flint Green, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Hong Kong pitching to the tune of a .500 average, with a .632 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Saint Paul Rovers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Woodmere Starfires - Greensboro Gappers series. Greensboro leads the series 2 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
