Big Bang! 3 HR for San Nicolas's Sánchez Friday, July 1st , 2067 Sometimes it just isn't enough. Mario Sánchez had an outstanding day at Ballpark of Greensboro for the San Nicolas Bulwarks today, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Bulwarks fell to the Greensboro Gappers, 9-7. Sánchez had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 22-year-old third baseman banged out 3 hits in 3 at-bats, scored 3 times and batted in 4 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Bulwarks were not able to hold off the Gappers. "Baseball is a funny game," Sánchez said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out." Mario Sánchez walked in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ken Wells in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Melvin Thompson in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Juan López in the 8th. |
