Mass Ave's Simmons Suspended Monday, August 14th , 2073 Mass Ave Minutemen catcher Seth Simmons was suspended 2 games by the league commissioner today, a day after arguing his ejection during a game against the Bakersfield Firewalkers. "I think the 2 games are a little harsh," Simmons said. He was ejected by plate umpire for arguing balls and strikes. After his ejection, Simmons went into the dugout, then came back on the field, argued with the umpire and had to be restrained by coaches and teammates. The suspension was issued for "unbecoming conduct and returning to the field of play after being dismissed." This year, Simmons is hitting .321 with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs in 23 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .433 with 9 walks and 14 runs scored. |
