Sunday, July 24th , 2072
Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Minutemen -Buffalos game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Mass Ave left fielder P.J. Allen thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Mass Ave to a win, 14-8, over Dollar Corner.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Allen said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Allen, who leads the OBL with a .969 slugging percentage, was 3-for-4 on the day with 6 runs batted in.
P.J. Allen hit a three-run home run off Hamilton Hill in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Hamilton Hill in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
To date this year, Allen is batting .480 with 13 home runs.
