Monuments Reel Off Another Win
|
The Washington Monuments went home winners at The Grand Lodge, thanks in large part to starter Riley Miller. Miller stifled the Minneapolis Maulers, enabling Washington to grab the 6-1 win. Miller went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-1. The wins continue to add up for Washington, with the latest making it 12 in a row.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Dave Garrett didn't flinch. With a runner on 1st and Minneapolis trailing 2-1, Garrett retired Rory Erickson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Garrett, with a wink.
