Petiet Cracks 3 HRs for Olympic Saturday, May 30th , 2071 It was a terrific day today for Stan Petiet, who ripped three home runs at Ballpark of Thornwood, and a disappointing one for the Olympic River Swimmers who nevertheless dropped the game to the Brainerd Seagulls. "He was instant offense today," Olympic skipper said. "Stan really put on a show. He more than did his part. We just didn't come through with hits at the right time to win the game." For the day, Petiet collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. In the postgame press conference he told the reporters he has always liked to hit at Ballpark of Thornwood. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he said. Stan Petiet hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Thus far this year Petiet is batting .299 with 18 home runs, 56 RBIs and 42 runs scored. |
