POTD AA News Flash: The All-Star Game Rosters Have Been Announced

It is not an easy task to pick the best players for the annual baseball classic -- the All-Star Game. It is not possible to please everybody. Whether we agree or not, they have been chosen ... and here they are. The rosters for this year's POTD Double A All-Star Game have been announced.

For the Atlantic League, the roster includes:

The ATL manager conceded that not every deserving player is rewarded with a spot on the roster. "Every year," he said, "someone is disappointed to be left out. This year's no different -- too many good players, not enough roster spots."

GONE! GONE! GONE! 3 HRs for Silva

In a powerful performance that left the fans at Ballpark of Stockton buzzing, East St. Louis Eagles left fielder José Silva blasted a trio of home runs en route to a win, 18-3, over the Olympic River Swimmers.

"Everything was clicking," Silva told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."

Silva shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Eagles manager said. "José played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."

José Silva hit a solo-shot off Iván Medine in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Lorenzo Canseco in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Lorenzo Canseco in the 4th, walked in the 7th and walked in the 7th.

This season in 42 games, Silva is batting .349 with 6 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 36 times.
