Injury Sidelines David Carrillo For Year
Wednesday, May 5th , 2077
The season is finished for David Carrillo of the Buena Vista Blaze. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Blaze center fielder suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament while running the bases in a recent game against the Tulsa Dust Devils. Team doctors said it would take at least 7-8 months to heal.
Hitting .446 to date, Carrillo has 5 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has played in 21 games.

Greyhounds Tapia Lost for Year
Wednesday, May 5th , 2077
The news is bad in Granville. The Greyhounds have lost the services of reliever Guillermo Tapia for the rest of the season due to a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Tapia was injured in a recent game with the Crab Apple Sluggers while throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 12 months.
So far this season, Tapia has picked up 3 saves in 9 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 2-0 won-lost mark with a 2.16 ERA and fanned 13 batters in 16.2 innings.

Cuevas Silences Crab Apple, 5-0

Granville's Arturo Cuevas brought his best stuff to Eagles Ballpark, shutting down and shutting out the Crab Apple Sluggers , 5-0. He racked up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 7 hits, and issued 3 walks on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," Crab Apple manager said later. "Granville could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
Cuevas has made 5 starts, tossed 29 innings, struck out 17 batters and walked 13. His record is 3-1 with a 4.97 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .305 batting average.
