Red-Hot Buckner Scorches Dust Devils
Friday, July 9th , 2077
It was a parade of hits for Greg Buckner of the Lake Champlain Monsters at Emus Stadium.
Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Buckner finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Monsters to a win, 9-8.
"Buckner was really good and we were really bad," groaned Dust Devils manager . "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
Greg Buckner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
In the current season, Buckner has put up a .388 batting average with 26 hits, 5 home runs, 15 RBI and scored 17 runs.

6-Hit Barrage by Anderson
Friday, July 9th , 2077
Sonoran shortstop Michael Anderson had a fantastic day at the plate at Chimpanzees Ballpark, knocking out 6 hits and pacing his club to a win, 15-5.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Anderson said after his 6-for-6 performance against the River Swimmers. "No offense meant to Olympic , but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Chimpanzees Ballpark."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the shortstop's improvements, saying Anderson spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Anderson said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Michael Anderson singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Currently Anderson is batting .380 with 2 home runs and 20 RBIs.

Granville-Brainerd Fight Results in Suspensions
Thursday, July 8th , 2077
Baseball officials have suspended two players for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct" in yesterday's Granville-Brainerd contest at Spears Ballpark. The Greyhounds Jack Beach and the Seagulls Roy Seymour will have to sit out 4 and 6 games respectively for their parts in the brawl.
This season, Beach is batting .304 with 77 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 44 times and has 50 runs batted in.
This season, Seymour has compiled a 3-1 record with a 3.00 ERA.
