Catron's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Thursday, August 7th , 2070 John Catron ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Field of the Oysters, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Montreal Whiz dropped the game, 7-3, to the Lake Champlain Monsters. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Catron said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." John Catron singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. This year Catron has batted at a .298 pace with 108 hits, 5 home runs, 39 RBIs and scored 54 times. |
