Sting Pitching Ravaged by Pérez
Monday, July 11th , 2072
Ángel Pérez of the Falcons was unstoppable in his team's 22-1 victory over the Virginia Sting at Intimidators Ballpark. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Cheyenne shortstop after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
Ángel Pérez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 7th.
This season, Pérez has posted a batting average of .300 with 85 hits in 283 at-bats, 5 home runs and 35 RBIs. He has also scored 53 runs, walked 46 times and compiled a .409 OBP.
